Conservation Research

Gilman International Conservation field research focuses on applied, practical researchstudies, as well as basic research to increase our knowledge of understudied species, particularly in the disciplines of reproductive biology and veterinary medicine.  Research is conducted to solve problems affecting the health and well being of selected wildlife species, and that addresses critical and important issues which pertain to species management and conservation.

Field research projects supported by GIC directly relate to the animal programs at White Oak Conservation Center, and are often extensions of research projects conducted at WOCC.   White Oak Conservation Center staff and/or interns design GIC field research projects to address specific issues surrounding wildlife population and habitat conservation.
